Centrespace Bristol

CentreSpace offers an affordable Exhibition space run not for profit with an ethos to show fresh and interesting work, to encourage new artistic talent and up and coming artists. Centrespace also houses artist studios and offers around 29 studios in and around Bristol.

I have previously exhibited in this space with an exhibition in February titled 'Pay and Display' and found it to be a really interesting space with plenty of footfall, i was also taken by the industrial aesthetic of the space.

EVENT/EXHIBITION INFORMATION

Name of event/exhibition: 'HERE'
Description of event/exhibition: A collective exhibition exploring the mutuality of a continuum scale that occurs within our practice. Two artist’s works focus on a single point on the scale at an exact time in our practice. The other works attempt to span the continuum.  Media used includes Static and Kinetic Sculpture, Audio and Video.

Alex focusses on our perception of strength and weakness through sculpture. He is fascinated by the way materials are joined together and how they interact with the space. Kelsey is working with audio to create a work that does not sit at a static point on the continuum but traverses order and chaos. Initial to terminal is the subject being explored by Pace through sculpture and video: focusing on inevitable events. Will is working with kinetic sculpture to explore serenity and anxiety, our need to leave a mark on the celestial plane.
