Exhibition Set Up

On The 25th of May we started the set up of our exhibition in Centrespace Gallery, Bristol. This involved the movement of our work from Sion hill to the gallery and to do this we hired a man with a van. Kelsey documented this process through a 35mm Colour Film Camera and below are some of the photographs she took.
Logistically the move was rather easy and we encountered hardly any problems, the only problems we encountered were that the Van man was only 15 minutes late which was not much of a problem for us and the second problem was the traffic heading into Bristol was worse than we anticipated, leading us to being half an hour late to the gallery for set up.

Once we got to the gallery and unloaded we still had the task of setting up the space. We had a rough idea of where each piece of work was going to go in the space, but we were open to movement within this plan. Once we looked at the space it was decided Alex's sculpture would be closest to the door but instead of being compacted into a room it would be widened out to encourage people to walk through it and to also add more visibility to the rest of the exhibition.

Mine and Pace's work was switched round from the plan we had to split up mine and Alex's work as ours was the largest work and we did not want the two largest works at the same end of the gallery as this would cause the space to look unbalanced. Kelsey's work was the smallest so we had to be careful to make sure it still had presence in the space, The yellow plinths that Kelsey's speakers were housed on helped them stand out and be noticed within the space. Below is a map of where each of the works was put in the exhibition.
