Dimensions 45cm x 23cm x

Multimedia automaton
Made with resin, jelly
wax, steel, grey polished concrete, red LED lighting and electronic mechanism.
‘Bully’ is an
autobiographical piece, which looks at the tension at the point of contact that
split second when the nipple and the finger come into contact and the unease of
this situation. At first glance this piece is humorous, but the longer you
look, and see what is happening you become increasingly aware of what is
unfolding in front of your eyes. The setting for this work is also very
clinical with a red glow which makes the work look like an incubator of some
sort adding to the overall feeling of unease.
‘Lazy Susan Boring’ (2017)
Kinetic sculpture
Made from: Sticker wood,
motors, circuitry and a bubble machine
This sculpture can be
interpreted in many ways. My intension was to create a work that looked
celestial in nature a planet orbiting a sun, Gravity underpins our existence
from the smallest molecules and particles all the way up to planets. I wanted
to harness this thought by producing a work which visually represented this but
also takes influence from industrial architecture, within the shapes I chose to
use and Alexander McQueen No.13 Collection from 1999. The bubbles represent us
as individuals we have a fleeting existence in this would but we all leave
marks behind in many ways and even the most insignificant of acts can cause
massive impacts.
‘Must be jelly cause jam
don’t shake’ (2017)
60cm x 60cm x 20cm
Sculpture and video
Made using: Vegetarian
gelatine, honey, glycerine, food colouring, water, TV screen, aluminium
sheeting.
A playful tongue in cheek
piece exploring sex. The jelly is edible so could be eaten this allures to the
act of rimming or ‘eating ass’. The name of the work is taken from a lyric from
the song ‘peanut butter’ by RuPaul a legendary drag queen, with this work the
intention is to push myself and really work with the materiality of a simple
substance like jelly. Lust and sass were two other emotions I channelled within
this work.
‘Big Bertha’ (2017)
0.6m X 2.4m x 1.8m
Kinetic Sculpture
Made from: Sheet steel,
lead weight, window wiper motors, electronics, 12v battery, bubble machine and
pink spray paint.
This sculpture can be
interpreted in many ways. The name of the work has been taken from a character
in Futurama, but it also means the largest object in its class. My intension
was to create a work that looked industrial but symbolised a planet orbiting a
sun, Gravity underpins our existence from the smallest molecules and particles
all the way up to planets. I wanted to harness this thought by producing a work
which visually represented this but also takes influence from industrial
architecture, within the shapes I chose to use and Alexander McQueen No.13
Collection from 1999. The bubbles represent us as individuals as we are
fleeting moments in time, but we all leave marks behind in many ways and even
the most insignificant of acts can cause massive impacts.
